Ran 10 miles around Sherman Army Airfield while my Dad biked beside me. I was thinking for that many miles I wouldn't be able to talk much but we chatted the entire time! It took a little over 2 hours. The weather was great but hot so we kept drinking and sweating! As for longer, weekend runs: I'll run less than 10 next weekend, then a 13 miler the next and then taper for the Dogwood Canyon 25k!
I ran a marathon, then multiple halves & many 10/5ks before gradually becoming fairly sick most of the time. Life came to a crawl due to exhaustion/stomach aches/headaches/achey joints/swelling/wheezing, etc. I finally realized the issues were food related (gluten, oats, dairy and corn) & changed my diet. Life returned to normal! I try to eat natural whole foods & organic processed foods (labels tend to be honest & derivative free.)
As I felt better, I started running again. I try to stick to trails or dirt paths. I hope to train for longer distances because I love doing something I didn't know I could do.
